When to Seek Medical Attention

Contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe allergic reactions like swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat; difficulty breathing; or hives. These are signs of a serious allergic reaction and require immediate medical attention.

Seek medical advice if you develop severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, or bloody stools. This could indicate an intestinal infection known as Clostridium difficile colitis, a potential side effect of doxycycline.

Report any signs of liver problems such as yellowing of your skin or eyes (jaundice), dark urine, or unusual fatigue to your doctor without delay. These symptoms require prompt evaluation.

If you notice changes in your vision, such as blurred vision or double vision, contact your healthcare provider. These may be indications of a rare but serious side effect.

Persistent or worsening symptoms, regardless of their nature, warrant a call to your physician. Do not hesitate to contact your doctor with any concerns.
